Community AMA Recap: Loyalty Program and What's Next

On September 22, we held a Community AMA in our Telegram chat where Max Holub, Chief Product Officer, answered your questions about the updated Loyalty Program, the $COCA token, banking and what the team is working on for the rest of 2026.
We started with the questions you submitted in advance, then opened the chat for follow-up questions. Max stayed on to answer them directly, and we've included those answers throughout the relevant sections below.

🪙 Loyalty Program and $COCA
Q: Looking ahead to late 2026 and early 2027, do you see the Loyalty Program moving toward pure cashback, or toward a broader membership model with lifestyle perks?
Max Holub:
A bit of both, but mostly membership. Cashback is our core, but your tier shouldn't just be a number. We recently removed the cashback cap and introduced Claim Capacity, which you can boost by staking, spending or holding your tier. You can also claim your rewards basically anytime you want. Next, we're looking at real-life lifestyle perks. We're exploring things like airport lounges and global eSIMs. Many of these depend on our card issuer and Visa card levels, so no official promises yet. But a broader, sustainable membership is exactly where we're heading.
Q: Are there any plans to add interest on $COCA staking? For example, Crypto.com gives around 6% APY for CRO staking.
Max Holub:
No, we aren't planning to add APY on $COCA staking. Paying high APY on a native token creates constant selling pressure, which goes against our "Only Up!" tokenomics. Platforms like Crypto.com require 12-month CRO lockups for tiers and don't pay yield on idle cash. COCA doesn't require huge mandatory locks. Instead, you get up to 5% APY on your idle USD balance, paid in actual cash, plus Claim Capacity boosters. Real yield on real money with maximum liquidity is our priority.
Q: Is the $COCA token a way to keep COCA viable for users and profitable in the long run? Which long-term projects or use cases make $COCA more useful?
Max Holub:
Yes, $COCA is the core of our Loyalty Program. Staking it gives you your tier, higher cashback, a bigger Claim Capacity and other perks. To support our "Only Up!" model and keep the program sustainable, we've locked all new token distributions until December 2027. We keep adding more use cases. Buying and selling $COCA in the app is already live, the Staking Booster for Claim Capacity is coming, and we're exploring more perks for holders. One idea we're thinking about is unique COCA IDs for $COCA holders.
💸 August rewards and Claim Capacity
This was the topic most of you asked about.
Q: Why isn't August cashback, which was earned before the new rules were announced, paid out in full under the old rules?
Max Holub:
We owe you a straight answer: no, we're not releasing August rewards in full under the old rules. If you earned more in August than your new Monthly Claim Capacity allows, the excess won't be released all at once. We know this feels like a retroactive change, and we understand the frustration. Why the change? The previous allowance limits weren't sustainable. The old model rewarded short-term churn over long-term loyalty. We're building a platform for people who use COCA as their daily financial hub, not just as a rewards machine. Your rewards are not lost. Unclaimed August rewards roll over month to month and stay valid for 12 months. You can claim them with your monthly capacity, and you can grow that capacity yourself: • Staking Booster: stake more $COCA. • Volume Booster: spend more with your COCA Card and use it as your daily card. • Tier Booster: hold your paid tier continuously. Other platforms lock your tokens for 12 months, charge non-refundable annual fees or strictly cap your spending. We don't. You can leave your tier anytime with a 30-day cooldown, and your perks stay active during it. You can also use the free Starter tier with 1% cashback and up to 5% APY on your USD balance. We know many of you have been with COCA for a long time, and we really appreciate your loyalty and support. If your goal is to maximize cashback for a single month and leave, COCA probably isn't the right fit anymore, and we'd rather be honest about that upfront. But if you want a sustainable place to hold money, earn real yield and grow your rewards over time, you're exactly who we're building this for, and we'd love for you to stay.
Q: Why do subscription rebates count toward the same Monthly Claim Capacity as regular cashback?
Max Holub:
Some of you suggested excluding subscription rebates from the Claim Capacity. We can't promise this yet, but we're discussing it, along with other ways to reward your loyalty.
Q: If someone cancelled their tier after the first announcement but decides to come back, can they keep their Tier Booster history?
Max Holub:
Unfortunately, we can't restore it. If you cancelled your tier, your Tier Booster starts counting again from the beginning.
Q: In previous AMAs, the team said the old benefits were sustainable. Why the change now, and should we expect more changes before the end of the year?
Max Holub:
The previous program was sustainable, but we've grown. A lot of new users come just for the rewards, and to stay sustainable we had to change the Loyalty Program so it rewards the people who are truly loyal to COCA. Yes, calculating the boosters took us a while. We could have simply told you "spend as before and you'll earn as before", but that's not how it works. The program is sustainable now. We don't plan any big changes to the program until the end of the year. If we get good ideas on how to reward loyalty better, we may introduce them.
You can find how Claim Capacity and all three boosters work in our Loyalty Program article.
🏦 Banking and transfers
Q: What's your progress with ACH transfers (especially outgoing), and what will they look like when they launch?
Max Holub:
ACH development is fully back on track and planned for Q4 this year. We paused briefly to secure partners with a wider geographic reach and better stability. You'll get your own US bank account details right in the app to receive and send USD. If you've already passed SEPA verification, some of you won't need any extra checks, and some may need to add a few more documents. ACH won't be US only: it will be available to residents of selected countries across Europe, LATAM and APAC. We'll share the details closer to launch.
Q: I'm not an EU resident, so I can't deposit by bank transfer. Is there a plan to open SEPA or ACH deposits to more countries?
Max Holub:
We regularly review the list of countries where SEPA and ACH are available. There are no specific dates or plans right now.
Q: When will we be able to go fully in € in the app? I pay in €, deposit in € and want cashback in €, but I still see USD, pounds and conversions all the time.
Max Holub:
We hear you! EUR deposits, withdrawals and card payments in euros already happen directly in €. We've also recently improved how card payments are shown: the merchant's currency is now displayed as the main one. USD is only used in the background to calculate rewards globally. When you claim rewards, you can choose to receive them in your EUR account, and they're converted instantly at the live rate. We know native EUR display for rewards would be cleaner, and it's on our optimization list.
Q: There's no bank in my country where I can use the COCA Card, but I have bank accounts in the US. Can I connect my card to one of them? Can I top up from my bank, or only with crypto? And can I use my card abroad without transaction fees?
Max Holub:
Let's go one by one. • You don't need a bank in your country to use COCA. You fund your COCA balance yourself, and the card works wherever Visa is accepted. You can't link an external bank account to the card, but you don't need to. • You can top up with crypto, SEPA bank transfers (ACH is coming in Q4), card-to-card transfers, or receive money from other COCA users by COCA ID. • Card payments can have a small FX fee depending on the merchant's currency. The lowest fees are for USD, EUR and GBP.
Q: When will Arc deposits for EURC be available?
Max Holub:
Arc is on our radar, and so is EURC. We're adding new networks step by step together with our infrastructure partners at Aurora. In August alone, we added a long list of new deposit networks for COCA banking. Stay tuned.
Q: Why do some SEPA or crypto transfers get delayed or stuck, and what is COCA doing to prevent this?
Max Holub:
We know delayed funds are incredibly stressful. Our team uses COCA too, and we feel it. These delays are rare, and they usually happen for one of two reasons: mandatory automated compliance and AML checks that keep the platform and our users safe, or technical issues on our banking partners' side. Your money is never lost: it's always tracked. To prevent these cases, we're working with our partners on upgrading compliance algorithms without lowering security, negotiating with providers for faster resolution, and looking at how we could resolve such cases independently of our partners.
💳 The COCA Card
Q: How effective is your card?
Max Holub:
I'd suggest trying it for free and then telling us how effective it is for you. The Starter tier is free, with 1% cashback and up to 5% APY on your USD balance. Honestly, it depends on what "effective" means to you, so let's look at two things: how well the card works, and how much you get back. The COCA Card works wherever Visa is accepted, online and in stores. You can also add it to Apple Pay or Google Pay and pay with your phone. The number of people using COCA keeps growing month after month. According to Paymentscan, spending with COCA Cards grew by 95% over the last 90 days, and by almost 42% in the last week alone compared to the week before. COCA is now in the top 10 stablecoin card programs by monthly spending, and you can check it yourself anytime. Now, what you get back. Cashback goes from 1% on the free Starter tier up to 8% on Elite. From the Standard tier, you also get 50% back on subscriptions like Netflix or YouTube. And your USD balance earns up to 5% APY on any tier, including the free one. So it's a card you can use for everyday spending, and it pays you back for it.
Q: Are localized COCA Cards on the roadmap, for example German-issued cards with a local BIN? Some merchants reject the current card because it's recognized as UK-issued.
Max Holub:
Yes, we know about this issue, and thanks for highlighting it. We don't have plans for local BINs until the end of the year.
🛠 Your account and support
Q: Can I transfer ownership of my account?
Max Holub:
If you mean handing your COCA account over to someone else, that's not possible at the moment. Every COCA account is personal and tied to your own verification, so it can't be transferred to another person.
Q: Why is my account still pending KYC verification after so many days?
Max Holub:
Sorry about the wait. When verification takes longer, it usually means your account needs an additional check, or we've asked for additional documents. In very rare cases, it can also be a technical error during verification. First, check the app and make sure you haven't been asked to provide more documents. To speed things up, contact our support team at help.coca.xyz/support/tickets/new. They'll check your case and help you get verified.
Q: When will referral codes work again?
Max Holub:
This is our top priority right now. The team is working on it and we're very close to finishing. We aim to re-launch it in October, but no specific date yet.
Q: Will you invest more in the support team? Tickets can take a long time.
Max Holub:
Yes, we're working on improving our support.
💬 Your ideas
During the AMA, Max asked the community how COCA could reward loyal users more while keeping the program sustainable. A few ideas from the chat:
A temporary tier upgrade for every completed referral, and a bigger upgrade after a set number of referrals.
Referrals that increase your Claim Capacity.
The team is collecting these. If you have your own idea for rewarding loyalty or for what $COCA should give holders, share it in our Community Chat.
🚀 Looking ahead
Thank you to Max for his time and to everyone who joined the chat and sent questions. Some of them were tough, and that's exactly what these sessions are for.
Our community is a huge part of what makes COCA what it is. Your questions, ideas and feedback help shape what we build next.
We’ll keep creating space for these conversations and bringing you closer to the people building COCA.
See you at the next AMA!
Team COCA 💙
