COCA Monthly Update: April 2026

  • May 7
  • 4 min read

April was the month COCA 3.0 moved from blueprint to reality.

After months of building, testing, and refining, our biggest release to date went live – bringing together a personal IBAN, real-time APY, full self-custody, and a cleaner app experience in one self-banking product.

Once COCA 3.0 was in users’ hands, April quickly became more than a launch month. It became a month of feedback, conversation, recognition, and forward momentum.

Here’s what shaped April 👇

📈 Growth & Momentum

April brought impressive growth across the COCA ecosystem. Here are the key metrics:

  • Active users: +14%

  • Transaction volume: +14%

  • Card orders: +43%

  • $COCA token price: +32%

🌏 As an interesting highlight, the strongest user activity came from five markets: Germany, Spain, UK, Italy, and the Netherlands.

🚀 COCA 3.0 Went Live

April marked the biggest release in COCA’s history: COCA 3.0.

With this update, COCA became a full self-banking app – one place to spend, earn, transfer, and grow your money while keeping full control at every step.

COCA 3.0 introduced a free EUR bank account with a personal IBAN, giving users a way to receive salary, pay bills, and move funds via SEPA directly from COCA. It also brought real-time APY, so eligible balances can start earning every second – with no monthly payout wait, no minimum balance, and no lock-up.

The release also marked a major infrastructure upgrade. COCA 3.0 is built around full self-custody, meaning users keep technical ownership of their funds, while COCA, payment processors, and intermediaries cannot access or move funds without user authorisation.

Alongside the banking and ownership upgrades, COCA 3.0 made the app smoother and simpler – with a cleaner experience built for everyday use.

💙 Recognizing Our COCA 3.0 Beta Testers

COCA 3.0 was shaped by our beta testers, whose feedback and suggestions helped refine the final experience.

To thank everyone who joined the COCA 3.0 beta test, we gave them a special “Beta Hero” badge in the COCA Community Telegram chat, priority access to future testing rounds, and a +1% cashback boost throughout May 2026.

Their input helped make COCA 3.0 clearer, smoother, and more useful for the whole community.

💬 COCA 3.0 Q&A Session

Following the launch of COCA 3.0, we held a community Q&A session to answer key questions about the update and what comes next.

The five users who submitted the best questions each received $20 on their COCA balance.

Beyond COCA 3.0

COCA 3.0 was the headline of April, but it wasn’t the only thing that shaped the month. Here’s what else happened.

📰 COCA Making Headlines

COCA was covered by BeInCrypto and PR Newswire, putting our self-banking vision in front of a wider audience and highlighting key features like EUR IBAN accounts, real-time APY, self-custody, and a smoother app experience.

The COCA Card also appeared in rankings by The Coin Republic and Ventureburn, earning recognition among notable crypto card options for everyday spending.

And the attention didn’t stop there. Throughout April, partners and community members around the world kept mentioning COCA, sharing their experience, and joining the conversation across different channels.

All of this made April a strong month for COCA visibility – not just within our community, but far beyond it.

💳 COCA Mastercard and Apple Pay

In April, Apple Pay became available for COCA Mastercard cards.

Previously, Apple Pay support was available only for COCA Visa cards. With this update, Mastercard users can add their COCA card in seconds and pay with iPhone or Apple Watch anywhere contactless payments are accepted.

📖 COCA User Stories: How COCA Became the main card for Marco and his family

Last month, we shared another post from our COCA User Stories series – this time featuring Marco.

After trying several crypto cards, Marco was looking for something simple, practical, and easy to use every day – something he could recommend even to people outside crypto.

Since switching to COCA, he has earned around €1,500 and even introduced COCA to his 75-year-old mom.

🍏 Apple Frenzy Winners Announced

In April, we announced the winners of our Apple Frenzy campaign, launched to celebrate COCA becoming available on Apple Pay.

10 lucky participants each received $50.

Thank you to everyone who joined the campaign. More opportunities are coming soon.

✏️ COCA vs Ready Comparison

We also prepared a new comparison article: COCA vs Ready: Which Crypto Card Is Actually Better?

For the first time, we shared the draft with the community before publishing it, inviting users to review and help refine the content. The goal was to collect feedback and make the final comparison more honest, balanced, and useful for people choosing between crypto cards.

Thank you to everyone who reviewed the draft, left comments, and helped us improve the article before release. We’ll continue this approach going forward!

👀 What’s Next

Following the COCA 3.0 launch, we’re preparing the next wave of app and community updates.

On the product side, users can look forward to in-app COCA token purchases, card-to-card transfers, fee-free EUR and USD currency exchange, and ACH transfers for USD accounts.

Beyond the app, we’re also planning community initiatives, new campaigns, Q&A sessions, rewards, prizes, and a few surprises along the way.

Thanks for staying with us. The best is still ahead!
