How COCA became the main card for Marco and his family and earned him €1,500 in rewards

It’s not every day you hear someone say, “My mom is 75, and she uses COCA too” in an interview about a crypto product. But that’s exactly what makes Marco’s story stand out.

After trying several crypto cards, Marco wasn’t just chasing rewards. He was looking for something simple, clear, and practical enough to use every day – and easy to recommend even to people outside crypto.

Since switching to COCA, he has earned around €1,500 through cashback, referrals, and prizes, and used that extra cash to make a summer trip to Greece even more memorable.

But let’s start from the beginning.

Q: Hi, Marco! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with COCA. To start, could you tell us a bit about yourself?

A: Sure. My name is Marco, I’m 35, and I’m from Italy. I was born and raised in Rome, and after spending many years away, I’m living here again now. I work in cybersecurity as a SOC analyst. My family is pretty small. I live alone and recently became single again. Outside of work, I’m into traveling, riding my Ducati, skiing, and gaming.

Q: How did your COCA story begin? How did you first come across COCA?

A: I found COCA while searching for cashback card alternatives. After checking the website and doing some research on Discord and Telegram, I decided to give it a try a few weeks later.

Q: And what cards were you using before? We’d love to hear the full story.

A: I used the NEXO Card for years. I also tried Plutus, but honestly, that one was a mess. In a way, they did me a favor by banning my account after I criticized how they were moderating their subreddit. I ended up selling at a profit, and just two months later the token price crashed. After that, I moved to Crypto.com, but after about a year and a half I stopped using it because their token kept losing value. I also used Gnosis Pay for a while, and I still keep it for some travel expenses, but at the beginning of summer 2025 I officially switched to COCA as my main card.

Q: Got it. So what perks and features made COCA the one for you?

A: What I really like is the debit card cashback mode and how clear the rewards system is. The subscription rebate is also a great perk. And honestly, one of the biggest advantages for me is that the token actually holds its value.

Q: That makes sense. Speaking of the token, do you remember the price range where you first bought $COCA?

A: Around $0.50 to $0.70.

Q: Nice. That sounds like a very solid entry point. And what about the rewards from using the card? How much have you earned with COCA overall?

A: In total, I’ve earned around €1,500 through cashback, referrals, and prizes thanks to being on the Premium tier. For me, those rewards are also a way to protect my finances from inflation. They give me a bit more breathing room, and sometimes they let me spend a little beyond my usual monthly budget, which I really appreciate.

Q: That’s great to hear. Was there a moment when using the COCA card really stood out for you?

A: Yes, definitely. COCA was my go-to card during my summer trip to Greece. One moment I really remember was booking a hotel through the COCA Travel platform. I got a great price and cashback on the booking too. With the money I saved, I was able to book an amazing day trip to see the tortoises in Zante. That made the whole experience even more memorable.

Interviewer: It’s great that COCA helped turn those savings into such a positive experience.

Q: Have you recommended COCA to anyone else?

A: Yes, I have. I’ve invited a couple of friends, and my mom too. She’s 75, and she actively uses COCA.

Q: Wow! How does she like using COCA? Tell us a bit more.

A: My mom is actually very into technology – she uses her smartwatch, smartphone, and PC without any issues. She was looking for a replacement for her Amex Blu, specifically a card for everyday use that would still give her some cashback, so I suggested COCA. I did help her initially with buying the token on MEXC, and now I help her with the top-ups of EURC from Coinbase.

She finds the COCA app itself very clear and easy to navigate, and she rarely asks me for help or info. She uses the card as her main card for all her daily expenses. Honestly, if COCA were to introduce a dedicated IBAN for direct SEPA top-ups, it would be absolutely perfect, and she could manage the entire process 100% on her own.

Interviewer: That’s really good to hear, especially when someone older feels comfortable using COCA in everyday life. And the good news is that a dedicated IBAN for SEPA top-ups is coming very soon, which should make the experience even smoother.

Q: And last question: how would you describe COCA in one word?A: Rewarding.Interviewer: That’s the perfect word to end on, nothing to add to that. Thanks, Marco!

Marco’s story is not just about rewards, although €1,500 is hard to ignore. It’s also about finding a card he genuinely wanted to stick with after trying several alternatives – one that felt clear, practical, and easy to recommend to the people close to him.

From everyday spending in Italy to travel in Greece, COCA became part of Marco’s real life, not just another product he tested and moved on from.
